Most of our graduate students are financially supported through Student Academic Appointments (SAA). For most students, this involves teaching in one of our department’s two English language programs or teaching another language for departments such as East Asian Languages and Cultures, French and Italian, Germanic Studies, or Spanish and Portuguese. Occasionally, there are opportunities for a Student Academic Appointment as a research assistant. Currently, the compensation for a Student Academic Appointment includes full tuition remission, a monthly living stipend, health insurance, and other Indiana University benefits. Further details are available upon request.
Students who wish to be considered for a Student Academic Appointment are advised to indicate this at the time of their application to the degree program.
